Jayboa

I had decided to go down to the beach and sunbathe as the sun set over the ocean. I didn’t see my sister and Jethro anywhere as I laid my towel down. Of course I had my phone and my gun with me. In the back of my mind I was worrying about Jenny and Jethro. Before I had gone down to the beach I had heard Kate’s inquiry along with her telling Abby and McGee about her boyfriend. It looked like the women of NCIS had things going pretty well for them these days. Before long Balboa came to join me on the beach.
“What’s with the worried look on your beautiful face?”
“Its more of a concerned look than a worried look. You should know that by now.”
“You’re wondering where your sister and Gibbs are?”
“Is it that obvious?”
“Yes it is. So is there any reason why you came down here, besides checking up on your sister and Gibbs who are fully capable of taking care of themselves.”
“Well I had a feeling that you would follow me and that would lead to other physical pursuits….” I answered with a come hither look on my face.
“You did, did you?” Balboa said as he wrapped his arms around me and we kissed.
“Of course I did. That’s the other thing; I’ve got to stop being around Tony when he is trying to get Ziva into bed with him.”
“So what you are saying is that you are ready for us to…..”
“Basically. What are you waiting for? I’m lying here in a bikini on a beach.”
Before long Balboa and I were reenacting the ever popular beach scene from old movies between a man and a woman. Some time afterwards Balboa got dressed and I put my bikini back on. Once I was back in my beach attire I had started gathering my things.
“Jay, can you take a break from that for a few minutes?” Balboa asked.
It was the first time since we had started seeing each other that Balboa had ever called me Jay like the others did.
“Sure what is it?”
“I know we’ve only been dating for a few days, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. Jaylyn Shepard, will you marry me?”
I was pretty much speechless at that point and didn’t say a word.
“Well?” Balboa asked as he opened up the Tiffany’s box to show me the three stoned emerald cut platinum engagement ring he had for me.
“I have to find my sister, I need my sister.” I said as I got to my feet, put my jeans on, holstered my gun next to where my badge sat on my jeans and went to search for Jenny and Jethro.

McAbby and MacKate

“Finally some down time after back to back cases, we deserve this.” Abby said as she settled herself next to McGee on the couch.
“Abby, you just had a spa day with Jaylyn, Ziva and the Director.”
Meanwhile Kate was in the kitchen making coffee. In the back of Kate’s mind she was thinking of her boyfriend, Drew.
“What are you thinking about, Kate?” Abby asked.
“Not much Abby.”
“Your eyes say otherwise, Kate.”
“When did you become an expert on reading people’s eyes?” McGee asked.
“When I met you, six years ago.” Abby answered as she kissed McGee on the cheek.
“Let me get this straight; you guys are back together?” Kate asked.
Both Abby and McGee nodded in response.
“Tony is dating Ziva.” Kate continued on with a bit of disgust in her voice.
“Kate there is nothing wrong with Ziva. She isn’t her brother. Besides Tony really loves her.” Abby said.
“Jaylyn and Director Shepard are sisters?”
“Yeah, they are sister.”
“Okay, was it me or is there something going on between Gibbs and the Director?”
“Well Kate, Director Shepard is a redhead and you know Gibbs has a thing for redheads.” McGee answered.
“Yes; Gibbs and the Director are in a relationship, no one outside of the team is supposed to know that. Just the ten of us.” Abby said.
“And Jaylyn is seeing Balboa?”
“Yup.” Abby replied.
“I’ve been gone for five years and all of this happens.”
“So what’s been going on with you, Kate?”
“Not much; just trying to keep busy. Kind of glad that bastard is dead.”
“I wouldn’t say that around Ziva if I were you.”
“Why?” Kate asked Abby.
“When it comes to Ari, her father and Mossad; Ziva tends to get defensive. Ari lied to her, her father cared more about Mossad’s well-being than hers so it’s all a sore topic.”
“Out of curiosity, have you met anyone during all that free time you’ve had?” McGee asked as he desperately tried to shift the conversation something less stressful.
“I have, his name is Drew.”

Tiva

“Well this is nice.” Ziva said as she and Tony lay on the bed to watch TV.
“Yeah it is.” Tony replied as he kissed Ziva.
“So what do you want to do? Go for a walk along the beach?”
“Sure why not.” Tony said as he jostled the platinum Tiffany’s emerald cut engagement ring he was planning on giving to Ziva at the right moment.
A few moments later Tony and Ziva were outside walking barefoot in the sand as the sun began to paint the sky.
“So where do you see this relationship of ours going? Is it going anywhere or is it just status quo?”
“Starting to worry about us?”
“I’ve been worrying since Paris.” Ziva answered as she laced her hand in Tony’s.
“Let me guess, you don’t think that this going anywhere.”
“Are you as committed to this relationship as you appear to be? Are you as committed to me as you were to Jeanne?”
“Thanks for the reminder. Does it seem like I’m not committed?”
“Pretty much, one minute we were having a world-wind romance like the Director and Gibbs had when they were in Paris. The next minute it slows down. I’m worried Tony.”
“Well you shouldn’t be.” Tony said as he placed his free hand on the teal Tiffany’s box in his pocket.
“And why shouldn’t I be?”
“Cause there is no reason to, Ziva. I love you Ziva, always have.”
“You’re just saying that to shut me up.”
“If I wanted to shut you up, I would have kissed you.”
“So are we moving on to the next level or are we staying where we are in this relationship?”
“Why wouldn’t we move forward?” Tony asked as he desperately tried to buy more time before he proposed.
“Cause you have commitment issues, Tony. Everyone on the team knows it.”
“Much like you, I’ve changed.”
“I know; I was there.”
At that point, Tony decided that it was now or never for him to propose to Ziva. The sun was still painting the sky in the beautiful colors it only does in the morning and evening.
“Let’s stop here for a few minutes.” Tony said as he grasped the ring box.
“Why? What are you doing?”
“Ziva, you know I love you. That I’d do just about anything for you. You know that I would risk my life to keep you safe and have on many occasions. There is one thing I want to know.” Tony said as he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring.
“Go ahead.”
“Ziva David, will you do me the honor and become Ziva DiNozzo?”

Jibbs

Later that day after we brought Jethro back to the room there was a lot to deal with. Ducky had called me to check on Jenny and Jethro after he had learned of what had happened to them. Jethro lifted the no co-habitation rule for us, which created a slight stir when Ziva joined Tony on his bed. Jenny went to the balcony and saw Jethro down below at the shoreline.
“I’ll be back.” Jenny said as she opened the door.
“Okay, we’ll be here.” I replied as Jenny looked back to see Kate complaining about Ziva and Tony being together.
“You’ll have to deal with Tony and Ziva being together, Kate. Nothing is going to change that.” Jenny said as she left the room.
“How much do you want to bet she is going down to Jethro?” I asked.
“He hasn’t been himself since you brought him back.” Abby said.
“I think if we give them a few hours alone they’ll be fine.”
“I hope so, Jay.” Abby said as she settled in next to McGee on the couch.
Balboa had come back to the hotel room after he brought Dana and Logan to NCIS. Kensi and Dominic had left to go back to the OSP office.
“So do you want to take a walk?” Jenny asked Jethro.
“Well it’s either a walk or we have some more fun upstairs.”
“That’s all you ever want do, Jethro.”
“I take it that you want to walk along the beach.”
“Yes, Jethro. We only have a few hours left and I would like to enjoy it before we go back.”
Jenny then took Jethro’s hand in hers as they started to walk down the beach with Balboa and I looking down from our hotel room balcony on them.
“I hope we have what they have when we’re their age.” I said as Balboa wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm in the cool beach breeze.
“We will, without a doubt.” Balboa said as he felt the ring box in his front side pants pocket shift slightly.
Meanwhile Jenny and Jethro walked down the beach their feet were periodically enveloped by the water. For a brief moment Jenny and Jethro stopped to watch the sunrise over the water.
“How gorgeous is this?” Jenny asked.
“It doesn’t hold a candle to you, Jen.”
“That’s sweet.” Jenny said as she kissed Jethro.
A few seconds later Jenny and Jethro heard gunshots ring out in the distance. Both of them drew their guns and headed to where the gunshots came from.
