I had decided to go down to the beach and sunbathe as the sun set over the ocean. I didn’t see my sister and Jethro anywhere as I laid my towel down. Of course I had my phone and my gun with me. In the back of my mind I was worrying about Jenny and Jethro. Before I had gone down to the beach I had heard Kate’s inquiry along with her telling Abby and McGee about her boyfriend. It looked like the women of NCIS had things going pretty well for them these days. Before long Balboa came to join me on the beach.
“What’s with the worried look on your beautiful face?”
“Its more of a concerned look than a worried look. You should know that by now.”
“You’re wondering where your sister and Gibbs are?”
“Is it that obvious?”
“Yes it is. So is there any reason why you came down here, besides checking up on your sister and Gibbs who are fully capable of taking care of themselves.”
“Well I had a feeling that you would follow me and that would lead to other physical pursuits….” I answered with a come hither look on my face.
“You did, did you?” Balboa said as he wrapped his arms around me and we kissed.
“Of course I did. That’s the other thing; I’ve got to stop being around Tony when he is trying to get Ziva into bed with him.”
“So what you are saying is that you are ready for us to…..”
“Basically. What are you waiting for? I’m lying here in a bikini on a beach.”
Before long Balboa and I were reenacting the ever popular beach scene from old movies between a man and a woman. Some time afterwards Balboa got dressed and I put my bikini back on. Once I was back in my beach attire I had started gathering my things.
“Jay, can you take a break from that for a few minutes?” Balboa asked.
It was the first time since we had started seeing each other that Balboa had ever called me Jay like the others did.
“Sure what is it?”
“I know we’ve only been dating for a few days, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. Jaylyn Shepard, will you marry me?”
I was pretty much speechless at that point and didn’t say a word.
“Well?” Balboa asked as he opened up the Tiffany’s box to show me the three stoned emerald cut platinum engagement ring he had for me.
“I have to find my sister, I need my sister.” I said as I got to my feet, put my jeans on, holstered my gun next to where my badge sat on my jeans and went to search for Jenny and Jethro.

McAbby and MacKate
“Finally some down time after back to back cases, we deserve this.” Abby said as she settled herself next to McGee on the couch.
“Abby, you just had a spa day with Jaylyn, Ziva and the Director.”
Meanwhile Kate was in the kitchen making coffee. In the back of Kate’s mind she was thinking of her boyfriend, Drew.
“What are you thinking about, Kate?” Abby asked.
“Not much Abby.”
“Your eyes say otherwise, Kate.”
“When did you become an expert on reading people’s eyes?” McGee asked.
“When I met you, six years ago.” Abby answered as she kissed McGee on the cheek.
“Let me get this straight; you guys are back together?” Kate asked.
Both Abby and McGee nodded in response.
“Tony is dating Ziva.” Kate continued on with a bit of disgust in her voice.
“Kate there is nothing wrong with Ziva. She isn’t her brother. Besides Tony really loves her.” Abby said.
“Jaylyn and Director Shepard are sisters?”
“Yeah, they are sister.”
“Okay, was it me or is there something going on between Gibbs and the Director?”
“Well Kate, Director Shepard is a redhead and you know Gibbs has a thing for redheads.” McGee answered.
“Yes; Gibbs and the Director are in a relationship, no one outside of the team is supposed to know that. Just the ten of us.” Abby said.
“And Jaylyn is seeing Balboa?”
“Yup.” Abby replied.
“I’ve been gone for five years and all of this happens.”
“So what’s been going on with you, Kate?”
“Not much; just trying to keep busy. Kind of glad that bastard is dead.”
“I wouldn’t say that around Ziva if I were you.”
“Why?” Kate asked Abby.
“When it comes to Ari, her father and Mossad; Ziva tends to get defensive. Ari lied to her, her father cared more about Mossad’s well-being than hers so it’s all a sore topic.”
“Out of curiosity, have you met anyone during all that free time you’ve had?” McGee asked as he desperately tried to shift the conversation something less stressful.
“I have, his name is Drew.”
“Abby, you just had a spa day with Jaylyn, Ziva and the Director.”

Tiva
“Well this is nice.” Ziva said as she and Tony lay on the bed to watch TV.
“Yeah it is.” Tony replied as he kissed Ziva.
“So what do you want to do? Go for a walk along the beach?”
“Sure why not.” Tony said as he jostled the platinum Tiffany’s emerald cut engagement ring he was planning on giving to Ziva at the right moment.
A few moments later Tony and Ziva were outside walking barefoot in the sand as the sun began to paint the sky.
“So where do you see this relationship of ours going? Is it going anywhere or is it just status quo?”
“Starting to worry about us?”
“I’ve been worrying since Paris.” Ziva answered as she laced her hand in Tony’s.
“Let me guess, you don’t think that this going anywhere.”
“Are you as committed to this relationship as you appear to be? Are you as committed to me as you were to Jeanne?”
“Thanks for the reminder. Does it seem like I’m not committed?”
“Pretty much, one minute we were having a world-wind romance like the Director and Gibbs had when they were in Paris. The next minute it slows down. I’m worried Tony.”
“Well you shouldn’t be.” Tony said as he placed his free hand on the teal Tiffany’s box in his pocket.
“And why shouldn’t I be?”
“Cause there is no reason to, Ziva. I love you Ziva, always have.”
“You’re just saying that to shut me up.”
“If I wanted to shut you up, I would have kissed you.”
“So are we moving on to the next level or are we staying where we are in this relationship?”
“Why wouldn’t we move forward?” Tony asked as he desperately tried to buy more time before he proposed.
“Cause you have commitment issues, Tony. Everyone on the team knows it.”
“Much like you, I’ve changed.”
“I know; I was there.”
At that point, Tony decided that it was now or never for him to propose to Ziva. The sun was still painting the sky in the beautiful colors it only does in the morning and evening.
“Let’s stop here for a few minutes.” Tony said as he grasped the ring box.
“Why? What are you doing?”
“Ziva, you know I love you. That I’d do just about anything for you. You know that I would risk my life to keep you safe and have on many occasions. There is one thing I want to know.” Tony said as he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring.
“Go ahead.”
“Ziva David, will you do me the honor and become Ziva DiNozzo?”
“Yeah it is.” Tony replied as he kissed Ziva.
“So what do you want to do? Go for a walk along the beach?”

Jibbs
Later that day after we brought Jethro back to the room there was a lot to deal with. Ducky had called me to check on Jenny and Jethro after he had learned of what had happened to them. Jethro lifted the no co-habitation rule for us, which created a slight stir when Ziva joined Tony on his bed. Jenny went to the balcony and saw Jethro down below at the shoreline.
“I’ll be back.” Jenny said as she opened the door.
“Okay, we’ll be here.” I replied as Jenny looked back to see Kate complaining about Ziva and Tony being together.
“You’ll have to deal with Tony and Ziva being together, Kate. Nothing is going to change that.” Jenny said as she left the room.
“How much do you want to bet she is going down to Jethro?” I asked.
“He hasn’t been himself since you brought him back.” Abby said.
“I think if we give them a few hours alone they’ll be fine.”
“I hope so, Jay.” Abby said as she settled in next to McGee on the couch.
Balboa had come back to the hotel room after he brought Dana and Logan to NCIS. Kensi and Dominic had left to go back to the OSP office.
“So do you want to take a walk?” Jenny asked Jethro.
“Well it’s either a walk or we have some more fun upstairs.”
“That’s all you ever want do, Jethro.”
“I take it that you want to walk along the beach.”
“Yes, Jethro. We only have a few hours left and I would like to enjoy it before we go back.”
Jenny then took Jethro’s hand in hers as they started to walk down the beach with Balboa and I looking down from our hotel room balcony on them.
“I hope we have what they have when we’re their age.” I said as Balboa wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm in the cool beach breeze.
“We will, without a doubt.” Balboa said as he felt the ring box in his front side pants pocket shift slightly.
Meanwhile Jenny and Jethro walked down the beach their feet were periodically enveloped by the water. For a brief moment Jenny and Jethro stopped to watch the sunrise over the water.
“How gorgeous is this?” Jenny asked.
“It doesn’t hold a candle to you, Jen.”
“That’s sweet.” Jenny said as she kissed Jethro.
A few seconds later Jenny and Jethro heard gunshots ring out in the distance. Both of them drew their guns and headed to where the gunshots came from.
“I’ll be back.” Jenny said as she opened the door.
“Okay, we’ll be here.” I replied as Jenny looked back to see Kate complaining about Ziva and Tony being together.

Saving Agent Gibbs
As Balboa helped Dana up from the floor Jenny took notice of how bruised Dana looked.
“You got a few good shots in, Jay.”
“I learned from the best sis.”
“I guess this means that we can drop the covers.” Kate said.
“We can stop acting like our last name is King, but we are still family, Kate.” Ziva answered.
“You family, ha.”
“Oh no.” Tony said.
“I am family, Kate. I have been for four years.”
“You are not family, David.” Kate said as she mispronounced Ziva’s last name again.
“This is gonna be bad.” Tony said.
“It’s Da-veed, Agent Todd.”
“You’re family is in Tel-Aviv and in the ground.”
“How dare you bring Eli and Ari up.”
“Well it’s not my fault you are related to a dead beat dad and murderer.”
“Ari has been dead for four years and Eli is nonexistent.”
“Well I think it’s about time you join them." Kate said.
“Oh, I see how it is. You think I'm just like them. You don’t think it’s possible that I'm different from them, do you?”
“They are gonna start throwing punches at each other soon.” Tony said.
“Yeah you may want to break them up, Jen.”
“Agent David, Agent Todd.” Jenny said in her Director tone.
“What?!” Ziva and Kate said.
“Calm down guys. Remember she’s the boss and we have a more pressing matter at hand than the two of you dealing with your Ari issue.” I said.
“Director.” Kensi said in our earwigs.
“Yes, Agent Blye.”
“We have a fix on Agent Gibbs.”
“Where is he, Kensi?” Abby asked impatiently.
“Abby.” Jenny said reprimanding Abby.”
“Harsh much, Jen?”
Jenny glared at me.
“You’re not helping.” Jenny said to me.
“So.”
“Where is Agent Gibbs?” Jenny asked as she rolled her eyes.
“What did I get myself into?” Jenny asked herself.
“Agent Gibbs is in a room five floors up from where are now.” Agent Blye answered.
“Thank-you. Has there been any phone calls for me?”
“SECNAV called to see how the case was going, Dom took care of that and Assistant Director Vance called. He wants you to call him when you have a moment.”
“Great.”
“What was that Director?”
“Nothing, Agent Blye. Keep me posted.” Jenny said.
“Will do Director.”
“Where’s Gibbs?” Abby asked.
“He’s five floors above us in a room.”
“Why did you say great before?” I asked.
“Vance wants to talk.”
Tony and I had a complete Lucy Ricardo moment after hearing that Vance wanted to talk.
“What’s wrong with Assistant Director Vance wanting to talk?” Kate asked.
“He just wants to complain and that’s the last thing we need right now.” I said.
“That bad, huh?”
“Worse.” Ziva said.
“Okay so who is going to save Jethro?” I asked.
“You, Ziva, Tony and I will save Jethro. McGee and Kate will stay here with Abby.” Jenny answered.
“Be safe.” Abby said as she gave us each a hug.
“We will Abby.”
Once the four us got in the elevator Jenny found out what room Jethro was being held in.
“Jethro is in suite 4623.”
“So what is the game plan Director?” Ziva asked.
“Tony and I will get Jethro, you and Jaylyn will take care of Logan.”
“Sounds good, ready to unleash our mad skills on the bastard?” I asked Ziva.
“Of course, I owe Gibbs that much.”
A few minutes later we got to the floor that suite 4623 was on. As we approached the suite we had our guns drawn. Tony kicked down the door. Ziva and I each fired a round at Logan. Jenny checked for a pulse as Tony untied Gibbs.
“Took ya long enough.” Jethro said to Jenny as soon as Tony took the gag out.
“I’m just glad you are alive. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.”
“You would survive. You’re a fighter; Jen, you always have been and you always will be.”
“Is that your way of saying I love you?”
“I guess so.”
“I love you too, Jethro.”
“You got a few good shots in, Jay.”
“I learned from the best sis.”

Separate Activities
Later that day we all had separated from the collective group to do our own things. Tony had gone down to the buffet with McGee. Jenny and Jethro had gone down to the coffee shop the hotel had in the lobby. As for Abby, Ziva, Kate and I; we had decided to go to the outdoor pool. As Jenny and Jethro reconnected over their second cup of coffee another couple that had checked in the same time as us, came up to them.
“Hello, mind if we join you since everywhere else is taken.” Logan asked.
“Go ahead.” Jethro said.
“Thank-you; I’m Dana and this is my husband Logan.”
“I’m Jenny and this is Jethro, my husband.”
“Were those your children with you earlier?” Dana asked.
“Yes; we have five, two sons and four daughters.” Jenny replied.
“What are their names?” Logan asked.
Jethro was a bit suspicious at this point.
“Anthony, Kate, Timothy, Abby, Ziva and Jaylyn.” Jethro answered.
“How old?” Dana asked.
“Anthony is 38, Kate is 35, Timothy and Abby are 30, Ziva is 29 and Jaylyn is 25.” Jenny answered.
“I hope you don’t take this the wrong way Jenny, but you look good for having five children and a set of twins.” Dana said.
“Thank-you.”
Meanwhile outside at the pool; Abby, Ziva, Kate and I were sunbathing. Abby had an umbrella so that she could keep her pale complexion.
“Did Tony and McGee ever delete those pictures of you from LA, Ziva?” Abby asked.
“Not as far as I know.”
“What did Tony do?” Kate asked.
“I was lounging like we are now last year when Jenny gave us the day off and Tony decided to take pictures of me. Instead of deleting them like I asked him to, he sent them to McGee and they haven’t deleted them.”
“The day you lost mom?” Kate asked as she kept to our cover.
“We didn’t lose her.”
“Four gorgeous women, lounging in bikinis.” Tony said as he started taking pictures with his cell.
“Tony!!!!!” the four of us said in unison as McGee joined us.
Kate and Abby punched Tony in the stomach as Ziva and I head-slapped him.
“Delete those, Tony. And the other ones too.” Ziva said.
Meanwhile Jenny and Jethro had gone back to the room. On their way back Jethro had told Jenny to go ahead of him as he went to the bathroom. When the seven of us returned to the room we all had a bad feeling. As we drew closer to the door we saw that it was slightly open.
“Jenny.” I said with a slight hint of fear and concern in my voice.
As Tony, Kate, Ziva and I pulled our guns out McGee stayed back with Abby. The room was in disarray as we walked in.
“Clear.” Kate said as she checked our room.
“Clear.” Tony said as he checked his and McGee’s room as Ziva checked the kitchen.
The next thing I saw was Jenny lying on the living room floor and not moving. Ziva saw the same thing as I did and flashbacked to the first time she found Jenny in the exact same position. Without any hesitation I ran over to Jenny.
“Jaylyn!!!” Ziva said as she tried to stop me.
In the next few minutes Dana came out from her hiding place and Ziva was by my side.
“Stay with her. I’ll take of that crazy bitch.” I said to Ziva.
“You seem to be pretty close to your mother.”
“What the hell did you do to her?”
“Nothing she won’t recover from in a few minutes.”
“What the hell did you do to her, bitch?”
“I just drugged her just like my partner drugged your Dad.”
At that point McGee had ushered Abby into one of the bedrooms and Jenny started coming around. Within minutes I punched Dana square in the jaw. A few minutes later I had Dana subdued and Kate had her in cuffs. Abby had heard everything from the bedroom.
“Where are you keeping him?” Jenny asked.
“Your precious husband is somewhere in this hotel.”
Jenny then slapped Dana like Abby slapped Ziva four years earlier.
“Jay, call Balboa and have him pick her up. Kensi, Dominic get a fix on Gibbs’ cell phone.”
“I’m guessing you guys aren’t related.” Dana said.
“We’re federal agents.” Kate replied.
“NSA, CIA or FBI?”
“Try NCIS.” I said.
“Navy Cops.”
“Ah yeah.”
Abby came out of the bedroom and joined us.
“We have to save Gibbs, you have to save him.” Abby said to Jenny.
“I will, Abs don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to Jethro.”
“Who is taking the lead on this?” McGee asked.
“I think I should since I am the senior field agent.” Tony said.
“But Jenny has more seniority than you do, Tony.” I said.
“I’m taking the lead, Tony works the case like Jethro would.” Jenny said.

Undercover Work and Memory Lane
“I think we can go out there now, Jethro.” Jenny said as she fixed her hair.
Kate was with us just outside of Jenny and Jethro’s room. Abby had joined us once Tony had let Kate in.
“Gibbs in there with the mystery redhead?” Kate asked.
None of us said anything.
“He isn’t with the mystery redhead; he’s with me, Agent Todd.” Jenny said.
“Kate, this is Director Jenny Shepard.” Tony said introducing Kate to Jenny.
“I’m sorry; Director, I didn’t know.”
“You’re supposed to be dead.” I said.
“Well I’m not, Agent?”
“Shepard, I’m Jaylyn Shepard.”
“Okay; so I guess that makes you and the Director, sisters.” Kate said as she looked over to Ziva.
“Yeah, we’re sisters.”
Surprisingly enough Jethro had been quiet the entire time.
“He’s our functional mute.” I thought
Kate walked over to Ziva and extended her hand.
“You must be Ziva David, I’m Kate.” Kate said as she mispronounced Ziva’s last name.
“It's pronounced Da-veed. And it’s nice to meet you too.” Ziva said.
Everyone could sense the tension between Kate and Ziva.
“Why are you here, Kate?” Jethro asked.
“I’m coming back to the agency and to the team.” Kate answered.
“McGee create a cover for Kate, DiNozzo brief Kate.” Jethro instructed.
“Yes boss.” Tony and McGee said.
“Welcome back, Kate.” Abby said as she hugged Kate.
“Kate; you’ll be bunking with Abby, Ziva and Jaylyn.” Jethro said.
Ziva still had a look of being guarded about everything and everyone, especially guarded of Tony.
“It will be okay. Tony won’t betray you. He’s not the same the person he was back then.” I said.
“I know.”
Abby helped Kate bring her stuff into our bedroom. Once Abby came out into the kitchen to grab a Caf-Pow, Ziva had gone into the bedroom. As for me I had gone to Jenny and Jethro’s room. This time their bedroom door was opened.
“Can I come in?” I asked.
“Sure; come in, Jay.” Jenny answered.
“What do you need?” Jethro asked.
“Just wanted to make sure you were both okay with Kate being back and to make sure that I still have a job.”
“Why wouldn’t you?”
“Jen, you know perfectly well why. Jethro only has four agents apart of his team. With Kate around we are one over, which means either I am out or she is out. We all know Jethro won’t get rid of Kate since she is like a daughter to him. I’m just the Director’s sister; I have no other place then that.”
“You aren’t leaving the team.” Jethro said.
“So you’re letting both of us stay?”
“Yes.”
“One last question, did you guys know that Kate was still alive?”
“Of course we did. We found out a few weeks ago.”
“Okay.”
A few hours later it was lights out. McGee and Tony had gone to their room after kissing their respective girlfriends goodnight. Kate was kind of surprised when she saw Tony kiss Ziva. Abby, Ziva, Kate and I then turned in for the night. Abby took a part of the floor. Ziva took one bed as Kate took the other bed.
I found a space on the floor like Abby. The following morning Kate, Ziva, Abby and I were the last one up. The four of us had decided to join the others in the kitchen for breakfast. Gibbs was at the small dining table drinking coffee and reading the paper. Jenny was on her phone with her coffee in her hands.
“It’s my childhood all over again.”
As we got breakfast Tony looked up to us.
“You guys look like hell.” Tony said before he took a bite of his cereal.
Kate, Ziva and I went over to Tony and head-slapped him as Abby punched him in the arm.
“Apparently you haven’t learned.” Kate said.
Jenny then got off her cell and nudged Jethro.
“What?” Jethro asked.
“We have to tell them.” Jenny answered.
“DiNozzo, David, McGee, Shepard, Abby.”
“Yes boss.” the five of us said as we joined my sister and Jethro at the table.
Kate took Tony’s seat on the couch.
“Agent Todd didn’t die five years ago like you think.” Jenny said.
“Okay, so the bastard didn’t kill her.”
“Tony.” Ziva said.
“Sorry, hun.”
“Kate has been in witness protection until recently.”
“But we were there when Ari shot her, Gibbs. I had her blood on me.”
“The bullet didn’t do that much damage. Ducky was able to fix her up.”
“Okay; so we are one big happy family again, all seven of us.” I said.
